In September, we began a new ministry training program for Muslim background believers in N. Cyprus. Following up on our yearly discipleship intensive, we sensed a need to further equip these believers for more intentional ministry, both in the workplace and established ministries. So last month, together with 15 students from 5 different nations and a small teaching staff, we gathered for a week of intensive training. It was a very refreshing time, even as we poured into the lives of this group of mostly Iranian and Turkish Mbbs. As always, hearing the testimonies of these believers from Iran and Turkey was very encouraging for all of us. The seminar format lent to more practical aspects and in-depth discussions on ministry in the Middle East. One of the highlights for many students was the evangelistic intensive given by a guest speaker from OM (Operation Mobilization), who has taught and equipped young people to share their faith for over 40 years. He then accompanied the students and staff as we went out on the streets to share our faith.
How to Pray:
- Pray for these disciples as they return to their jobs, schools, and places of ministry so that they will apply what they learned.
- Pray also for our next Barnabas discipleship program. We will welcome a whole new group into the program this next January and February.
- Pray for favor and protection of the unique venue the Lord has provided all these years amid increased government monitoring of believers on the island.
