We are excited to announce our next At the Crossroads conference will be March 21-23, 2016 in Jerusalem. This is an invitation-only conference.
Workers in God’s Kingdom from across the Middle East will meet together to learn from and encourage one another with what the Lord is doing throughout our region during this time of upheaval and change.
The majority of participants and speakers will be Middle Eastern nationals who are actively involved in ministry. Some will visit the Holy Land for the first time to meet with their Jewish brothers and to see some of the places where the stories of the Bible took place.
This conference will not reflect a specific national perspective, but will seek to rise above political and ethnic differences in order to facilitate cooperation across cultural, linguistic and national borders. As we learn to listen, pray, and worship together we can better understand and fulfill God’s purposes for our region.
Conference Theme
Our focus for At the Crossroads 2016 will be: “That they might know that I am the Lord.” This phrase, a frequent theme in the book of Ezekiel, emphasizes the sovereignty of God in the midst of judgment, crisis and change. Even in the face of destruction and injustice, God’s glory will cover the earth, He remains sovereign and His divine purposes will prevail. The nations will know that He is the Lord.
And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.
Ezekiel 36:23 (ESV)
How to pray
Delegates from around the Middle East have registered to attend the conference. We are asking the Israeli government for 64 visas.
Many of these delegates also need financial support to make the trip. We need $900 for each delegate to pay for visa fees, conference housing and the study tour.
For these needs we are praying Nehemiah 2. When Nehemiah longs to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls, the king asks him what he needs.
‘Then the king said to me, “What would you request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven. I said to the king, “If it please the king, and if your servant has found favor before you, send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.”’
- VISAS – “If it please the king, let letters be given me for the governors of the provinces beyond the River, that they may allow me to pass through until I come to Judah.”
- PROVISION – ‘”and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the fortress which is by the temple, for the wall of the city and for the house to which I will go.” And the king granted them to me because the good hand of my God was on me.’
(Nehemiah 2:4-8 NASB)
We have also Exodus 17:8-13 on our hearts, when Moses, with the aid of Aaron and Hur, kept his hands up in worship so that Joshua and the Israelite army could defeat the forces of Amalek. So let us worship God together and thank Him for a battle won.
