Please continue to pray for Armenia, Nagorno Karabakh in the follow up to the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The situation remains fairly serious in Armenia, as there is many refugees that arrived in Armenia and the area around Yerevan during and after the war but many have now returned to their homes and to the capital city of Nagorna Karabagh. However those who were from cities that Azerbaijan took control over as result of the Russian brokered peace treaty have not been able to return home and have remained as refugees in Armenia. As a result the government of Armenia is struggling to cope with the refugees and the current post war situation which includes facing a backlash from its citizenry for having surrendered in agreeing to the terms for an end to the conflict with Azerbaijan. Consequently there have been calls for the Prime Minister to resign but apart from all this there appears to be a larger storm on the horizon regarding the major powers in the region, Iran Russia and Turkey. For Christians here this tri-part alliance in the region is worrying to say the least with many wondering if this could be the beginning of a war with eschatological ramifications.
1. | Let’s pray for the government of Armenia, it’s leaders, and for Christians around the world to respond to the humanitarian crisis created by this war and for aid to be provided for the many refugees from Nagorno Karabakh/Artsakh in Armenia. |
2. | For Christian aid workers and believers inside Artsakh who are still ministering that God will strengthen them at this very difficult time, especially during the cold winter. |
3. | Church leaders of both the Orthodox and Evangelical Churches in Armenia that they would not respond with cries for revenge but receive God’s heart and understanding for the situation. |
4. | In a very difficult part of the world between Iran, Russia and Turkey, they would look to the Lord and fulfill their God-given identity and destiny as a nation on the Highway. |
5. | Finally we at Derech Avraham would like to collect funds for small ambulances for the Armenia. If you would like to contribute to this initiative you can DONATE HERE and include a note that says “Ambulances for Armenia”. |
